Ontario Together Trade Fund (OTTF)

Government of Ontario (Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade)

OntarioOther / multi-utilityAlways openNo fixed deadline

What it pays

Grants or loans in the range of 10–20% of eligible costs to a maximum of $5 million; up to 75% of eligible costs where exceptional benefits are demonstrated; up to 30% of a loan (to a maximum of $1.5 million) may be forgiven

Deadline: Rolling intake

Tariff-response capital funding: equipment and machinery, facilities and infrastructure, capacity expansion and reshoring for Ontario businesses hit by U.S. trade disruption. Continuous intake rather than fixed windows.

Who qualifies

For-profit businesses operating in Ontario with at least 3 years of operations and financial statements and at least 5 full-time-equivalent active employees, investing at least $200,000 in eligible project costs, in a sector extensively targeted by U.S. tariffs (for example steel, auto, aluminium).

Summarized from the official page. This is not advice; the provider decides.

Status note, as recorded

The page states "The intake period is continuous which means applicants can submit their application any time while the program is open", but it was last updated December 10, 2025 and carries no statement confirming it is still open in August 2026, and the fund closes when its budget is exhausted. Budget was $50 million over three years from 2025-26, increased by a further $100 million in November 2025 to $150 million. TREAT AS CONFIRM-BEFORE-PLANNING and re-verify before quoting to a client. The tariff-sector test is the real filter: this is a fit for a metal fab or auto supplier, not for a general manufacturer. The 10–20% band is the normal case; 75% is exceptional and should never be the headline number.

Nearly every application on this list wants a measured figure that most plants do not have yet. Metering produces it, and we can help your team put the paperwork together around it.
