Business stream: a loan of up to 15% of eligible costs to a maximum of $5 million, interest free during the project period, with up to 30% of the loan (to a maximum of $500,000) forgivable on meeting targets; or a grant of up to 15% to a maximum of $500,000 for small rural companies or $1.5 million for strategic foreign-direct-investment projects

Capital funding for established businesses investing in new equipment, technology adoption and process improvement in southwestern or eastern Ontario. Applications run in fixed windows rather than continuously.
Who qualifies
For-profit businesses with at least 3 years of operations and financial statements, at least 10 employees (5 in rural Ontario), investing at least $500,000 in the project ($200,000 in rural Ontario), located in one of the funds' listed counties.

Application Period 23 is OPEN NOW and runs June 30 – September 23, 2026. The geography is the opposite of most entries here: southwestern Ontario covers Brant, Bruce, Chatham-Kent, Dufferin, Elgin, Essex, Grey, Haldimand, Huron, Lambton, Middlesex, Niagara, Norfolk, Oxford, Perth, Simcoe, Waterloo and Wellington; eastern Ontario covers Frontenac, Haliburton, Hastings, Kawartha Lakes, Lanark, Leeds and Grenville, Lennox and Addington, Muskoka, Northumberland, Ottawa, Peterborough, Prescott and Russell, Prince Edward, Renfrew, and Stormont Dundas and Glengarry. THE GTA IS IN NEITHER; a Toronto, Peel, York, Halton or Durham plant must use the AMIC stream instead. Agriculture, mining, retail and construction are ineligible sectors.
