A loan of up to 15% of eligible costs to a maximum of $5 million, interest free during the project period, with up to 30% of the loan (to a maximum of $500,000) forgivable on meeting targets; or a grant of $500,000 for small companies in rural communities, or $1.5 million for strategic foreign-direct-investment projects

Who qualifies
For-profit businesses registered in Ontario in the advanced manufacturing sector with at least 3 years of operations and financial statements and at least 10 full-time equivalent employees, committing to create at least 5 new or upskilled jobs and to invest at least $500,000 in eligible project costs.

Application Period 8 is OPEN NOW, June 30 – November 5, 2026; Period 9 follows January 28 – April 27, 2027. Unlike SWODF/EODF this stream "includes all of Ontario", so it is the GTA manufacturer's route into the Regional Development Program. The sector list is narrow. The page names aerospace, automotive, chemical, information and communications technology (ICT), life sciences and steel. FOOD AND BEVERAGE MANUFACTURING IS NOT ON THAT LIST, so a brewery or a food plant is not eligible. Start with the online eligibility self-screener, then a provincial advisor, then a full application through Transfer Payment Ontario.
