FortisBC funds an embedded energy specialist, energy analyst or thermal energy manager position at a large gas customer to develop and execute natural gas savings projects, designed to work alongside an existing BC Hydro energy manager on combined gas and electricity savings.
Who qualifies
FortisBC commercial rate class natural gas customers using at least 30,000 GJ a year who have completed energy-efficiency projects in the past 12 months (and at least 10 GWh a year of electricity if also claiming electricity rebates).

The gas half of a two-utility energy-manager stack: preference is given to customers who already have a BC Hydro energy manager in place for six months or more, or a Strategic Energy Management Plan signed off by BC Hydro, so this and the existing BC Hydro Industrial Strategic Energy Management entry are designed to be taken together, and the library should say so. Also favours customers who have been through a FortisBC energy assessment (see F5), which makes the three a natural sequence. Terms are issued on acceptance and are described as non-negotiable.
