Pay-for-Performance

EfficiencyOne (Efficiency Nova Scotia) · Efficiency Nova Scotia

Nova ScotiaElectricityNo deadline statedNo stated deadline

What it pays

An incentive of $0.15/kWh based on verified first-year energy savings

Deadline: none stated on the source page

A whole-building performance program that pays on savings verified from a year of interval meter data rather than from an engineering estimate. Entry requires a package of measures delivering at least a 10 percent electricity reduction.

Who qualifies

Institutional, not-for-profit and commercial projects (including multi-unit residential), delivered through a consultant from Efficiency Nova Scotia's Efficiency Preferred Partner network.

Summarized from the official page. This is not advice; the provider decides.

Status note, as recorded

The most Quantify-shaped program east of Ontario: "the energy savings will be verified using interval meter data collected for one year after the installation." Metering is the mechanism, not an upsell. STATUS IS "unknown" ON PURPOSE; the page carries no intake statement and no closure notice; participation is via a live "select one of the following consultants from our Efficiency Preferred Partner network" route, which is evidence but not a declaration. THREE HARD CONSTRAINTS: at least a 10% electricity reduction is required and only electric savings count ("No, only the electric energy savings can be used to determine eligibility"); energy audits and feasibility studies are NOT funded ("no funding is allocated"); and it is NOT STACKABLE, "P4P participants are NOT eligible for other Efficiency Nova Scotia energy efficiency incentives or rebates... during the duration of the agreement." Single-measure projects are rejected and referred to the prescriptive rebates. CONFIRM BEFORE PITCHING A FACTORY: the eligibility line names institutional, not-for-profit and commercial, industrial is not listed.

Nearly every application on this list wants a measured figure that most plants do not have yet. Metering produces it, and we can help your team put the paperwork together around it.
