BC Hydro: Integrated energy audit and feasibility study funding

BC Hydro · BC Hydro

British ColumbiaElectricityNo deadline statedNo stated deadline

What it pays

Up to 100% funding for an energy expert to conduct an energy audit of the facility; the companion feasibility study offer also provides funding up to 100%

Deadline: none stated on the source page

BC Hydro pays for a third-party audit that maps where a facility's energy goes and which systems offer the best efficiency, demand-reduction or electrification opportunities, then funds the deeper feasibility study on the options worth costing.

Who qualifies

Industrial and large commercial BC Hydro customers; large commercial customers need company-wide annual electricity consumption of at least 2 GWh, and the energy expert must be an Alliance of Energy Professionals member.

Summarized from the official page. This is not advice; the provider decides.

Status note, as recorded

The best door-opener in the BC block; a utility paying up to the full cost of the assessment that a monitoring project is normally sold off the back of. Status "unknown" because the page states no intake dates and carries no "now accepting" sentence; it is an undated standing offer with no closure notice, and BC Hydro rarely publishes intake language. Applications route through the customer's Key Account Manager or Regional Energy Manager, not a public form, which is itself a reason to phone before promising anything. Re-verify quarterly. Pairs directly with the existing BC Hydro Industrial Strategic Energy Management entry.

Nearly every application on this list wants a measured figure that most plants do not have yet. Metering produces it, and we can help your team put the paperwork together around it.
